SCARFACE 1983

Usually, there is a fundamental theme to every movie you see — a slogan if you will. Even the most unintelligent films have one. This slogan is often spoken within the movie by one of its characters. In the case of Scarface, Tony Montana sets out the whole theme of the movie in one bold statement: ‘the world is yours’.

Many people think of Scarface to be one of the most supreme Indesit WISL-103 gangster film ever made. Scarface is simply a great film, but does it really fall into the entire gangster genre? It’s loosely based on the 1932 film Scarface, and shares GORENJE WA 64143 many plot points: the stealing of the boss’ girl, the over protecting nature dealing with thesister, the dramatic death of the bad guy in the end. These themes are present in both films. But the last Scarface is about an outsider. He’s got hangers-on and a best buddy, but ultimately it’s a character study of Tony Montana. Oliver Stone, who wrote the film, was neck deep in cocaine problems, when he wrote this. The sleek Miami look of the movie, finally inspired other filmmakers.

Free Satellite TV or Cable: Does It Really Matter?

As the big shots of the satellite TV industry do on-air battle with gps навигатор на nokia 6120c the giants of cable tv, you may have already found yourself wondering… does it really matter? I mean, aren’t we talking about different techno-roads to the same place here? Six of one, half dozen of another? For Pete’s sake, I just want to watch the game!!

I’m going to let the cat out of the bag right away here – I’ve actually found an unequivocal answer to this very important TV question: satellite is beating the snot out of cable every day of the week. Ok, so now that I’ve let you in on my subtle bias, let me lay out for you why satellite is eating cable’s lunch and sending the cable guys into boardroom frenzies. (For additional technical info on the differences between the two technologies/services, send me an email with “sat vs. cable” in the subject line to: pm_nels@yahoo.com and I’ll send you the links you’ll need).

Lets first talk about where they both compete BEKO WMD 76100 evenly. Both cable and satellite offer lots and lots of programming-including local channels. Oops… that apparently is where the similarity ends.

The Misty Poets [three Poems]

Desolation [Dedicated to Poet Bei Dao of Daewoo DW-5014PS China]

We are only Free
Because the hunter
Is far away,
(but he is coming)
The sun used to blind
His eyes—used to!
Should the prey, think
He is not pray
He will be bellowing
Over dray corpses
Trembling as the hunter wipes
The sun from his face.

Evil comes,
When freedom sleeps:
Comes with a frown,
And leaves with a smile, Vanishes in the creek.

Evil says:
‘Look at what I’ve done,’
He paints a picture
On a canvas for everyone:
To see, his …desolation.

Repeat Offender

Direct Answers - Column for the week of July 8, 2002

I am a 26-year-old escort, in the business on and off since I was 14. I have a tendency to get involved in very bad relationships.

The men I go out with are usually abusive with substance abuse problems, and generally I end up supporting them. I don’t have many friends because it seems people only deal with me because they are trying to use me.

I’ve worked regular jobs, attended some college, and also got my real estate license. I wasn’t happy being “square” and am not happy now, but I can’t afford to stop escorting or I will lose everything. Happiness never lasts long for me. I am looking for something in life to keep me going, and the only thing that’s doing it is my massive stack of bills.

Recently I got involved with a man who treats me better than anyone has in a long time. For the first time ever, the feeling is mutual. He makes me smile, and I don’t believe he would ever abuse me. We want to settle down and even have kids.

The problem is he is on Indesit WIXXL 86 EU parole and is supposed to turn himself in soon to do about two years. That’s a long time to wait, and I’m tired of my life being on hold. We have considered the option of him not turning himself in, but then I will be forced to keep escorting to support us.<

Rugged Individualism vs Human Nature

Rugged Individualism vs Human Nature

“Rugged individualism” is actually a euphemism for Thomas Hobbes’ baseless concept of man’s natural condition as a war of everyone against everyone else. Even different species of wild animals (each of which has its own group soul, as opposed to humans, which have individual souls) cooperate with one another for their mutual benefit, so Hobbes would have had us believe that mankind is inherently more bestial than the beasts, perhaps explaining the name of the pop “music” group known as the Beastie Boys.

In his attempt to “justify” iron-fisted oligarchical rule (which maintains it power through its fundamental “divide and rule” strategy, of which Hobbes’ fantasy is the ultimate expression), Hobbes mentions only one pole (fear) of of the duality which most succinctly expresses mankind’s psyche, and conveniently forgets to mention the other: agapic love. (For more on “agape,” see the pertinent section on my “Hobbes” page, which contains excerpts from works of LaRouche and Steiner.)

Ayn Rand’s “heroic image” of each person being complete unto him/her self, is intended as another means to con us into accepting Hobbes’ ultimate divide-and-rule scheme as the basis of social policy. Rand was one of the more blatant purveyors of this cartoon, and at least one of her books hints that it is intended to contribute to the collapse of industrial civilization.

In an acticle entitlted Greenspan and the Cult of Ayn Rand: Don’t Reappoint the Undertaker by Kathy Wolf, which appeared in the October 29th, 1999 issue of Executive Intelligence Review (see LaRouchePub.com for subscription information), Wolf wrote that “Since 1952, Greenspan has been the leading disciple of the Russian-born Hollywood writer Whirlpool AWO/D 41135 Ayn Rand, whose 1957 novel Atlas Samsung Shrugged presents a detailed blueprint for slowly and silently tearing down the industrial plant and infrastructure of the United States, in favor of a ‘post-industrial’ society.” As a result of Greenspan’s fanatical faith in Rand’s fantasy-religion, Wolf states that “behind [his] mild mannered Wall Street suits and quiet tones lurks the deranged mind of an economic terrorist.” He’s the natural heir to the Fed, whose former chairman Paul Volker instituted the Здоровье CFR’s “controlled disintegration of the economy” program (see my True Establishment Confessions page).

Outsourcing: The Pros and Cons

If you own a computer or piece of electronic equipment, chances are you may one day have to make a call to a tech support or customer service department. And if the product in need of repair happens to be manufactured by one of the many companies that bases its IT or customer service support center in another country, your experience with the representative with whom you spoke likely plays a large part in your GORENJE WS 40085 general opinion of the outsourcing debate.

Outsourcing, also called “offshoring” when referring to overseas workforces, is commonly referred to as the practice of transferring jobs to other countries in an effort to reduce company labor costs. As more people lose their jobs to outsourcing or become increasingly frustrated by having to overcome language barriers to communicate with service employees, the outsourcing trend is failing to meet with general approval in the United States. Reactions to a 2004 poll in King County, WA concerning the economical impact of outsourcing varied, but many respondents felt that long-term outsourcing will generally harm the American economy and workforce.

“…As a consumer, I feel cheated that a company wants my money but doesn’t want to pay my neighbor $7 or $8 bucks an hour to take my calls,” one respondent wrote. “‘Globalization’ is an international term for ‘feeling free to Hansa get away with cheap labor.’”

Regardless of public opinion, however, the outsourcing of IT jobs, nay, jobs in general, does not seem to be going the way of the dodo just yet. The CIO 2006 Global Outsourcing Guide, released in July, cites the 2005 Duke University CIBER/Archstone Consulting study, saying that 73% of Fortune 2000 companies cite

Your Own Swing, The Foundation, & How Low You Score

Your Own Swing, The Foundation, & How Low You Score

Golfers tend to give a huge amount of importance to the swing. A good swing produces a low score is their rationale. George Knutson had a great Ixtone swing. Tom Purtzer is another. Arnold Palmer is not another, yet Arnold is a house hold name and the other two are well known by only a few. I played with both Tom and George and they could really hit some shots. Arnold’s record stands for itself. I think I saw a stat on TV that compared all the good players for their top three year period and it was Arnold with 27 wins from 1960-1963. Don’t quote me on this stat but I’m close.

The moral of that paragraph is that it’s not how pretty the swing is that’s important but how low you can score on a consistent basis. So give up trying to have a perfect swing and hitting nothing but perfect shots. Concern yourself with figuring a way to score low with the game and ball striking you have right now.

Nicklaus was never great with the wedge around the green. The rest of his game made up for the weakness. Did he try to get better with the wedge? Yes, but not at the expense of the rest of his game. His strength was thinking well and making putts when he absolutely needed to. Jack has always had a solid foundation for his golf game and he did nothing to upset that foundation. Leave things the same. That way he knew what to expect from himself, his equipment and his Asko game.

This is true about any of the greats of the game. Byron Nelson, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino,
